Precision surface grinding services

Our precision surface grinding service complements our steel profile cutting service providing you with a complete in-house process from certified blanks through to finished product. Our surface grinders have a capacity of up to 100 ", we have six Lumsden grinders:

• 1 x 36" Grinder
• 2 x 60" Grinders
• 2 x 48" Grinders
• 1 x 100" Grinder

We have the ability to work to close tolerances (see below), offer competitive pricing for anything from one-off prototypes to batch runs. Our typical turn around time is 2 to 3 days, but we also can offer next day service for breakdowns.

Surface Grinding tolerances:

• For unspecified dimensions ground, tolerance is +/- 0.25mm (10 thou)
• For specified dimensions ground, tolerance is +/- 0.12mm (5 thou)
• Flat / parallel to within 0.15mm per running 300mm (approx 5 thou per running foot)

These machines are capable of grinding to tolerances of + or - 0.02mm flat and parallel (approx 0.5 thou) in certain circumstances. Please call to discuss your requirements with our experts.
